We are now administering Phase 3 of our discretionary scheme to help support our residents with the rise in energy costs. The council has been allocated £166,800 in funding to provide support to the most vulnerable households and for the purpose of this scheme the Council has decided on the following eligibility criteria:
Residents in receipt of council tax support and/or housing benefit who are 80 years and older.
The amount of award will be determined by number of claimants and available funding and estimated at £150.
We are now inviting applications and are in the process of writing and emailing the residents we have identified as being eligible under this scheme. Please do not make an application if we have not been in contact with you.

You must have the following information available when you make your application:
• Your eight digit council tax account reference which is displayed on your 2022-23 bill. The bill must cover the date of 1 April 2022
• Your bank account number and sort code which must correspond to the liable person on the council tax account. This must be the bank account of the council tax liable person who is completing this application. Please double check to ensure that the details have been entered correctly. Applications with incorrect details will be rejected and no payment made.
•Your bank statement clearly displaying the name, address, account number and sort code which will need to be uploaded. This must be the bank account of the council tax liable person who is completing this application. We do not need to see transactions on the statement. This statement must correspond with the details entered on this application.
The on line application will not allow you to proceed if you do not provide this information. If the bank statement does not display the required information it will delay the application being processed and we may need to ask you to supply more information.
